Family, Faith & Fun
My guess is you'd rather see a picture of my family than just an ugly shot of me :). Seriously though, they are just as much a part of the ReNew process as I am. From cheer-leading, to listening, to marketing and even part time clean up crew, these guys are awesome. Besides my great kids and incredibly patient wife Heidi, I'm eternally grateful for the hope we find every day through faith in our friend and Savior, Jesus Christ. He brings peace, joy and hope into every situation and our goal with ReNew is to bring Him glory as we serve those around us.
When we're not onsite working or in the office designing, our family loves all things outdoors. Camping, hiking, biking and geocaching are some of our favorite go to activities. We also have a passion for missions and have been able to serve in short term trips in the past. We're looking forward to taking our whole family on a missions service trip when God allows.
Our Story
As a little boy, Jeff dreamt of building. For a fourth grade writing assignment, he wrote that he wanted to build houses during the summer and then go to the mission field in the winter to build houses and churches for those in need. It took a while for those dreams to gel but the story was just beginning.
Jeff and Heidi have been building homes since 2001. While working for a local custom home builder, Jeff completed his college degree from Baker College in Muskegon. Upon graduation, Jeff stayed on with the construction company to help them launch a small custom wood shop and manage their technology needs. As the company grew, so did Jeff's experience and training. His passion for technology and building soon merged into a love for design. Pursuing continuing education and certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association, Jeff continued his design career while designing homes and kitchen and bath projects throughout west Michigan and across the country. After meeting the rigorous requirements of the NKBA, Jeff received his CKD endorsement from the NKBA. As a Certified Kitchen Designer, Jeff's experience and education have allowed him to design several national award winning projects.
In addition to pursuing his design and project management career, Jeff and Heidi designed and built several custom homes for their young family. It began as hobby but quickly became a passion. Having moved too many times to count, Heidi decided that she'd like to stay put in the last house instead of selling it. Jeff however needed another project so the couple purchased a foreclosed farm house and completely renovated it together as a family (pictured above). The project was fun and profitable and seemed like a perfect fit for their skills. Shortly after, Jeff resigned from his day job and launched ReNew Construction full time. Since then we've been busy remodeling old homes and building new ones. Each project so far has been unique and full-filling and God continues to bless our family as we strive to help others discover their own dream homes.
